About School Partnerships

Outdoor experiential learning is proven to get students excited about Math, Science, and Language Arts because it adds relevance, purpose, and meaning to daily lessons.

But schools need passionate, well-trained teachers and a rich, immersive learning environment to achieve those results.

Out Teach works with districts, schools, and teachers to give students both.

Effective Training

Out Teach’s seasoned Instructional Coaches provide professional training, ongoing instructional coaching, and follow-up support, all tailored to each teacher’s needs. Coaches hold one-on-one and group sessions to help teachers develop and deliver lessons that are aligned class, school, and state objectives. Coaches also work more broadly to help teachers increase content knowledge and experiential instruction skills.

Engaging Spaces

Out Teach demonstrates how to deliver powerful learning in a dynamic, outdoor learning space. We work with schools to turn under-used outdoor spaces into engaging experiential learning labs. Or school partners can apply to have us host one of our Big Dig events, where we work with corporate partners to build an elaborate outdoor learning lab in just one day.

Online Support

The Out Teach online Coaching Center, provides searchable standards-aligned lesson plans, training videos, feedback from Instructional Coaches, and a community of teachers who share experiences and best practices.

Instructional Planning

We partner with the instructional leadership to integrate outdoor experiential education into the school’s educational vision, and to establish shared implementation goals, metrics, and timelines. Regular check-ins and reporting ensure full program integration.

Out Teach, formerly REAL School Gardens, provides professional development for elementary school teachers. Out Teach prepares them to use school gardens, outdoor classrooms, and green schoolyards to improve instruction through three-dimensional project-based learning, and outdoor experiential inquiry-based education. Professional learning with Out Teach improves hands-on science and STEM education through instructional coaching and digital education resources and improves 21st Century skills.
